Description

I wanted to make a work that included something meaningful to me. After some thinking, I decided to make a code that would depict a drawing of a Schnauzer, my dog's breed.

A sound file was added, downloaded from this website. It's a 2-second recording of a dog barking.

The Schnauzer was designed using basic shapes to resemble the breed's characteristic look. Initially,

a simple version was created, smaller, consisting of fewer shapes and lacking the distinct look of this specific breed, later scaled up and refined for better detail. Features like color variations (all AKC recognized colors of the breed – black, white, black and silver, salt and pepper), tongue movement, and background changes were added for interactivity. The bark sound was integrated, with logic to randomly stick out the tongue when the mouse is clicked. Adjustments were made to fix sound loading issues and ensure smooth animations.

This is simply a playful, fun work, made to remind me of my pet in Serbia whom I miss a lot. I consider dogs to be one of the purest things we have the honour of knowing. Working on this code and seeing the final result, even though it is simple, has caused me to feel joy and reminded me of how much my own Schnauzer changed my life for the better. As Roger Caras said: "Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole."

Similar codes showing other dog breeds or even other animals can be made. This code could be further developed to make the background more detailed, change the position of the dog (e.g. from standing to sitting, lying down, etc.), add more sound effects and other possible changes.
